We coined the term “Tissue Modulation” to characterise research that aims to modulate the composition and stability of tissue or the phenotype of stem cells by manipulating intrinsic or exogenous extracellular matrix (ECM), respectively. To this end, we employ well defined non-peptide based synthetic molecules. Our expertise encompasses matrix biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, dermatology and industrial R&D experience. We promote the grooming of clinician scientists; our national and international outreach programmes include selected Junior College students from Singapore and hosting summer students from the best universities worldwide.
