Priscilla Peh, BioEngineering PhD year 1

priscilla

Priscilla graduated from NUS in 2008 with a Bachelor of Engineering, specialized in Engineering. During her graduate studies, she earned a broad experience in scaffolds and implants fabrication. Indeed, after working on collagen based bone implants at the Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, she joined A.Prof. Tong Yen Wah’s team to design and fabricate a polyurethane based in situ polymerizing dental filling in 2006/2007. She completed her skills at NUS in 2007/2008, with the fabrication and characterization of thermosensitive electrospun hydrogel scaffolds for tissue engineering applications.

She is now part of TML as a BioEngineering PhD student, working on 3 aspects of tissue engineering : the fabrication of electrospun bioactive tissue engineering scaffolds, the devicing of a rapid isolation method for bone marrow derived stem cells, and the study of mesenchymal stem cell influence and behavior in a skin organotypic culture.
