Sei Hien Lim, SMART PhD year 2
Sei Hien graduated from Nanyang Technological University in 2009, with a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical and Bio-molecular Engineering. During his undergraduate studies, he synthesized iron oxide with needle-like nanostructures for the applications in pharmaceutical and catalytic aspects (2006). Sei Hien also synthesized Layered Double Hydroxides (LDHs) coated with polyethylene glycol (PEG) to minimize the protein adhesion onto the LDHs, in order to prolong its half time in human body (2009). Sei Hien then joined the SMART program (Singapore MIT Alliance for Research and Technology) in 2009 as a PhD student, and is now focusing on the induction of angiogenesis by using Prolyl Hydroxylase Inhibitors in Microfluidic Devices. |
